Skin Boosters & Regeneration
보습/피부재생Healthy-looking skin depends on more than moisture. As skin ages, it can lose hydration, regenerative capacity, collagen and structural support at different rates. We choose skin boosters according to what your skin is actually missing.

What does your skin actually need?
Skin boosters are often grouped together, but they do very different things.
Dry skin may primarily need water.
Thin or damaged skin may benefit from regenerative support.
Skin with fine lines and declining elasticity may need collagen stimulation.
More advanced thinning and laxity may require stronger structural support.
At SNU Plastic Surgery Clinic, treatment begins by identifying which of these changes is most important rather than choosing a product by popularity or brand name.
Our main options include:
- 01
Belotero Revive
For hydration and improvement of dry, finely creased skin.
- 02
Rejuran
Polynucleotide-based treatment for regenerative support and overall skin quality.
- 03
Juvelook Skin
PDLLA and hyaluronic acid for gradual collagen remodeling, texture and fine lines.
- 04
Radiesse
Calcium hydroxylapatite used in selected dilution techniques for stronger biostimulation and structural support.
- 05
Laetigen
Type I collagen used selectively when direct collagen supplementation is considered appropriate.
- 06
Corage 2.0
A non-injectable adjunct used for skin conditioning and maintenance.
Hydration: Belotero Revive
Belotero Revive combines hyaluronic acid with glycerol.
Hyaluronic acid binds water within the skin, while glycerol helps maintain hydration. Together they are designed to improve skin that feels dry, tight or finely creased.
Revive is particularly useful when the main problem is dehydration rather than loss of volume.
It does not aim to change the shape of the face. The goal is simply for the skin to look and feel better hydrated, smoother and more supple.
Best suited for:
- dry or dehydrated skin
- fine lines related to dryness
- rough or tired-looking texture
- patients who want improved skin quality without added facial volume

Regeneration: Rejuran
Rejuran is based on polynucleotides, or PN.
Rather than acting primarily as a filler, PN treatment is used to support the regenerative environment of skin that has become thin, stressed or less resilient.
The improvement is gradual and is aimed at overall skin quality: texture, fine lines, elasticity and hydration balance.
Different formulations allow treatment to be adapted to the area:
Rejuran Healer
For general facial skin quality and regeneration.
Rejuran HB
Combines PN with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine when additional hydration and injection comfort are priorities.
Rejuran i
Designed for the thin and delicate skin around the eyes.
Rejuran S
A more viscous formulation used selectively for depressed scars and focal irregularities.
For more information on Rejuran S and scar treatment, see Scars & Pores.

Collagen stimulation: Juvelook Skin
Juvelook Skin combines PDLLA microparticles with hyaluronic acid.
The hyaluronic acid provides an early hydrating effect, while PDLLA provides a gradual stimulus for collagen remodeling.
This makes Juvelook particularly useful when dryness is accompanied by fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture or early loss of dermal firmness.
The aim is not to create obvious volume. The change develops gradually as the skin produces more of its own supporting collagen.
Best suited for:
- fine lines around the eyes, forehead and cheeks
- enlarged pores and uneven texture
- early thinning and loss of firmness
- patients who prefer gradual improvement rather than a filled appearance
Juvelook Skin can also be delivered with CureJet in selected scar treatments, where collagen stimulation is combined with a fine mechanical subcision-like effect.
See Scars & Pores.

Stronger structural support: Radiesse
Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxylapatite, or CaHA.
It can be used in different ways.
In its conventional form, Radiesse can provide contour and volume.
When appropriately diluted or hyperdiluted, the emphasis shifts away from filling and toward biostimulation: encouraging collagen and extracellular-matrix remodeling within the skin.
This makes it useful when the problem is more than simple dryness — particularly when the skin has become thinner, less elastic or structurally weaker with age.
Best suited for:
- thinning skin
- reduced firmness and elasticity
- more advanced loss of dermal support
- selected areas where skin quality and mild laxity need to be addressed together
The concentration and technique are chosen according to the treatment area and the amount of structural support required.

Direct collagen supplementation: Laetigen
Most regenerative injectables ask the skin to produce more collagen.
Laetigen takes a different approach by supplying Type I collagen directly.
We use it selectively when thin skin and reduced dermal support are the main concerns and direct collagen supplementation is considered appropriate.
It is not a replacement for every collagen stimulator, and it is not automatically better because it contains collagen itself.
The choice between Laetigen, Juvelook and Radiesse depends on whether the treatment goal is direct supplementation, gradual collagen stimulation or stronger structural biostimulation.

One problem, different treatments
- 01
Dryness without significant laxity
Belotero Revive may be sufficient when the main problem is loss of hydration.
- 02
Thin, stressed or reactive-looking skin
Rejuran can be considered when regenerative support and overall skin quality are the priorities.
- 03
Fine lines, pores and early loss of firmness
Juvelook Skin can provide gradual collagen stimulation without deliberately adding significant facial volume.
- 04
More advanced thinning and laxity
Diluted or hyperdiluted Radiesse may be considered when stronger dermal and structural support is needed.
- 05
Thin skin requiring direct collagen supplementation
Laetigen may be selected in specific cases.
- 06
Several problems at once
Combination treatment is often more logical than trying to make one product do everything.
Why combinations can work better
Aging skin rarely loses only one thing.
A patient may have dehydration at the surface, declining collagen within the dermis and reduced elasticity at the same time.
For example:
Revive + Rejuran
Hydration together with regenerative support.
Revive + Juvelook Skin
Hydration with gradual collagen remodeling.
Juvelook Skin + CureJet
Collagen stimulation combined with targeted treatment of scars or irregular texture. See Scars & Pores.
Juvelook or Radiesse + Sofwave or Thermage FLX
Biostimulation within the skin combined with energy-based improvement of elasticity. See Skin Tightening & Lifting.
The sequence matters.
Injectables and energy devices are therefore planned as part of one treatment strategy rather than simply being added together on the same day.
Corage 2.0: a non-injectable adjunct
Not every patient wants injections.
Corage 2.0 is a non-ablative, non-injectable treatment that we use as an adjunct for skin conditioning and maintenance.
Its role is different from injectable skin boosters.
It does not replace hyaluronic acid, polynucleotides or collagen stimulators. Instead, it may be used between injectable treatments or in patients who prefer a gentler, non-injectable approach with little interruption to daily life.

What to expect
- STEP 01
Consultation
We assess hydration, skin thickness, elasticity, fine lines, texture and facial volume. The first question is not “Which booster do you want?” but “What is your skin actually lacking?”
- STEP 02
Treatment planning
The product, injection depth, treatment area and interval are selected individually. A patient with dry but firm skin does not need the same treatment as someone whose dermis has become thin and lax.
- STEP 03
Treatment
Most skin boosters are delivered through multiple small injections or a cannula, depending on the product and area. Topical or local anesthesia may be used when appropriate.
- STEP 04
Aftercare
Small injection marks, mild swelling, redness or bruising can occur and usually settle over the following days. Hydration may improve relatively early. Collagen-stimulating treatments develop more gradually over the following weeks and months.
Frequently asked questions
- Q1
What is the difference between a skin booster and a filler?
A traditional filler primarily adds shape or volume where it is injected. A skin booster is used mainly to improve the quality of the skin itself — hydration, texture, firmness or regenerative capacity. Some products, particularly Radiesse, can be used differently depending on concentration and injection technique, so the distinction is not always absolute.
- Q2
Which treatment is best for dry skin?
If dryness is the main problem and facial structure is otherwise good, Belotero Revive is one of the most direct options because its primary role is hydration. If dryness accompanies thin, damaged or aging skin, Rejuran or a collagen-stimulating treatment may also be considered.
- Q3
What is the difference between Rejuran and Juvelook?
Rejuran uses polynucleotides and is mainly used for regenerative support and overall skin quality. Juvelook Skin uses PDLLA with hyaluronic acid and places greater emphasis on gradual collagen stimulation. Neither is universally better. They are chosen for different skin problems.
- Q4
Juvelook or Radiesse?
Juvelook Skin is generally better suited to fine texture, pores and early dermal aging where subtle collagen remodeling is wanted. Radiesse can provide stronger structural biostimulation and may be preferred when skin thinning and laxity are more advanced. The treatment areas and injection techniques are also different.
- Q5
Do I need a skin booster if I already have Thermage or Sofwave?
They address different problems. Thermage FLX and Sofwave use energy to improve skin elasticity and tightening. Skin boosters work from within the dermis through hydration, regeneration or biostimulation. When both elasticity and dermal quality have declined, combining the two approaches can be useful.
- Q6
How often should skin boosters be repeated?
There is no single schedule for every product or every patient. Hydrating treatments, regenerative treatments and collagen stimulators develop and last differently. We therefore plan maintenance according to how the skin responds rather than repeating injections simply because a fixed number of months has passed.
- Q7
Is there downtime?
Usually little. Temporary swelling, small injection marks, tenderness or bruising can occur after injectable treatment. If you have an important event approaching, tell us during consultation so that the treatment can be timed appropriately.
