Breast surgery
Breast surgery at SNU Plastic Surgery Clinic is planned as a single, continuous process: accurate diagnosis before surgery, careful technique during it, and structured care afterward.
Consultations and procedures are led by Dr. Jeong or Dr. Lee, with our medical team supporting you throughout your visit.
This applies whether the surgery is a first augmentation, a revision after an earlier operation or reconstruction following breast cancer treatment.

Precision under HD endoscopy
A high-definition endoscope lets the surgeon see the operative field directly rather than working by feel. Nerves and blood vessels can be identified and avoided while the pocket for the implant is created.
In our experience this precision reduces bleeding and postoperative pain, and it supports a quicker recovery. Less disturbance to the surrounding tissue also means less that has to heal.

Implant placement with the Keller Funnel
The Keller Funnel is a sterile sleeve through which the implant is delivered into the pocket. Because the implant passes through the funnel, it can be placed through a shorter incision, which leaves a smaller scar.
The implant is not handled directly during insertion. This no-touch method is designed to reduce the risk of contamination and infection, and with it the likelihood of tissue trauma and inflammation.

Who breast surgery is for
- 01
A quick return to daily life
Patients who want the recovery to be as short and predictable as careful technique allows.
- 02
Revision surgery
Capsular contracture or another complication after a previous operation that calls for revision.
- 03
Reconstruction after cancer treatment
Patients who need reconstructive surgery following treatment for breast cancer.
- 04
A natural result in feel and movement
Patients for whom the result must look and feel natural not only at rest but in motion.
What makes breast surgery at the clinic different
- SPECIAL 01

Individual design
Body shape, skin elasticity and the proportions of the chest are measured and analyzed, so that the result is in harmony with the rest of the body.
- SPECIAL 02

Incision placed to minimize scarring
The incision is placed in the natural crease of the armpit, where the scar is least conspicuous, and the approach supports a smooth recovery.
- SPECIAL 03

Responsibility and follow-up
Dr. Jeong takes responsibility from consultation through surgery to recovery, and a dedicated pre- and postoperative system follows each patient until healing is complete. Read more about our doctors.

Precision endoscopic surgery
High-definition endoscopic equipment minimizes bleeding and tissue damage. The precision it allows reduces both the burden of scarring and the time needed to recover.
Consultation, surgery and recovery: what to expect
The consultation covers medical history, examination and measurement of the chest, and a discussion of what the patient wants the result to be. The type and size of implant are decided together on that basis.
Revision and reconstruction cases are assessed separately, since the condition of the existing tissue, any previous implant and any prior treatment shape the plan. Records of earlier surgery or treatment are helpful at this stage.
Surgery is performed under endoscopic guidance, with the implant introduced through the Keller Funnel via an incision in the armpit. Swelling and tightness are expected in the first days and gradually ease as the breast settles into its final shape.
Follow-up visits are scheduled through the recovery period, and instructions on activity and scar care are given individually.

Frequently asked questions
- Q1
Why is the endoscope important?
It allows the surgeon to see the dissection directly, identify nerves and vessels and avoid them. Less bleeding and less tissue trauma mean less pain afterward and, in most patients, a shorter recovery.
- Q2
What does the Keller Funnel change?
Two things. The incision can be shorter, because the implant is compressed as it passes through the funnel, and the implant is never touched by hand, which lowers the risk of contamination and inflammation.
- Q3
Where will the scar be?
In the natural crease of the armpit, where it is largely hidden. Its length is kept short by the funnel technique, and closure is planned to keep it narrow.
- Q4
I have capsular contracture from a previous operation. Can it be corrected?
Revision for capsular contracture or other complications is one of the situations the clinic treats. The approach depends on the state of the capsule and the existing implant, and it is decided after examination.
- Q5
Is reconstruction after breast cancer offered?
Yes. Reconstruction after breast cancer treatment is part of the clinic's breast surgery practice and is planned individually, with the patient's treatment history in view.
